Boston Celtics and Miami Heat Tied For Second: Tiebreaker Rules For NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL
The 2011 NBA playoff picture is far from set. The Eastern Conference, especially, could see the Celtics and Heat – and the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks – finish with the same record.
The Western Conference is even trickier. The Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder could all wind up tied. As of the end of Friday’s games, the Denver Nuggets, Portland Trailblazers, New Orleans Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies are all separated by just three games.
There are either two or three games left on the schedule depending on the team.
So, it is quite possible we’ll see a tie or two when the regular season wraps up.
