Chicago Bulls’ Gar Forman and Miami Heat’s Pat Riley are Co-NBA Executives of the Year: NBA EOYs by Team

Pat Riley and Gar Forman will share the 2011 NBA Executive of the Year award.  It is the first time there have been co-winners.

Riley was the offseason winner, signing LeBron James. Forman’s Bulls took the regular season Eastern Conference title.

Joe Axelson of the Kansas City-Omaha Kings won the first award in 1973.

Three executives have won the award with more than one team: Bryan Colangelo (Raptors, Suns), Jerry West (Grizzlies, Lakers) and Bob Bass (Charlotte Hornets, Spurs).
