The 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Finals begin Wednesday, June 1st.  The Boston Bruins are looking for their sixth cup, while the Vancouver Canucks are looking for their first.

Since 1915, 94 Stanley Cups have been awarded to just 22 different teams (five of which are defunct).

Prior to 1927, multiple leagues (NHL, PCHA, WCHL, NHA, WHL) vied for the Cup.  Beginning with 1927, the Cup became the de facto championship trophy of the NHL alone.
