Dallas Cowboys Most Valuable Sports Team in America: Current Value of Every NFL Team
Posted by Vin Getz
How hugely popular and profitable is the NFL? I’ll tell you. In Forbes’ most recent “The World’s 50 Most Valuable Sports Teams,” all 32 NFL teams made the cut. Yup, even the Buffalo Bills. And they’re not the least rich team either.
Aside from that, and while most of this list makes a lot of sense, there are some other surprises. For example, the Houston Texans are the ninth most valuable sports franchise in the world? Whoa. They’ve never even made the playoffs in their brief 10-year existence.
The Washington Redskins are the 2nd most valuable football team? Umm. I guess winning has nothing to do with a team’s value. Zing!
Also, what’s with the six-time champion Pittsburgh Steelers way down there at No. 17? The Cleveland Browns are worth more than the Steelers? They must really love their football those Ohioans. But wait, that doesn’t explain the Cincinnati Bengals at, ouch, No. 25. But hey, neither they nor anyone else on this list is suffering.
One more surprise: the Dallas Cowboys are now the richest team in America, supplanting the New York Yankees. And so is the way of baseball in comparison to football these days.
