College Basketball AP Players of the Year – By School
Ralph Sampson, Three-Time AP Player of the Year Winner (bleacherreport.com)
Jerry Lucas of the Ohio State Buckeyes won the first Associated Press Player of the Year award 50 years ago, in 1961.
Since then, the AP has crowned more Duke players than any other school.
Here’s a look at all the Player of the Year winners by the schools they played for. The Virginia Cavaliers‘ Ralph Sampson is the only three-time winner. Lucas, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Walton and David Thompson are the only other multiple winners.
