Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Quarterbacks with 500-Yard Passing Games
Norm Van Brocklin Threw for the Most Yards in a Single Game, 554
Surprised to see that only 11 times in all of NFL history has a quarterback thrown for over 500 yards? I thought for sure it would be more.
Golden Boy Tom Brady was the last to do it – he did it earlier this season against the rival Miami Dolphins.
Drew Brees did it too – back in ’06.
Brees has been tearing in up in 2011. No 500-yard games, but he is closing in on Dan Marino’s season yardage record. He is just 304 yards behind with two games to play. That record is going down!
Anyway, as for 500 yards, how about Norm Van Brocklin – he threw for the most yards ever in a single game: 554!
