So who are the biggest goons in NHL history?  Well, there are lots of ways to look at it…

…but according to penalty minutes, the guys on today’s list are the top 20.

Tiger Williams has spent the most time in the penalty box of any skater ever and also appears to be the unanimous choice for biggest goon in NHL history.

Williams has 400 more penalty minutes than current Washington Capitals coach Dale Hunter in second, and 2,100 (!) more than the closest active player, the Chicago Blackhawks‘ Sean O’Donnell.

Looks like that record’s safe.
