Today, it’s time to look at one of the Summer Games most popular events: gymnastics.

The Soviet Union…and Japan…make their mark here more than any other nation. Only one American, Shannon Miller, made the cut.

The Soviet Union’s Larysa Latynina is the greatest Olympic gymnastics medalist of all.  She’s got 18, and in fact, that happens to be the most medals in any sport period.
