Roger Federer Defeated Andy Murray To Tie Pete Sampras For Most Wimbledon Titles
In a mostly one-sided 2012 Wimbledon Final, Roger Federer dispatched underdog favorite Andy Murray to tie Pete Sampras for most Wimbledon titles with seven.
It was Federer’s eighth Finals at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club – now the most all time on the men’s side, after passing Sampras.
Martina Navratilova made it to the most Wimbledon Finals of any tennis player in Open Era (since 1968) history. She earned 12 appearances.
