The Open Championship, known more familiarly stateside as the British Open, has been played on 14 different courses over its 151-year history:

6. Royal Birkdale Golf Club
7. Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club
8. Royal Liverpool Golf Club

10. Royal Portrush Golf Club
11. Royal St. George’s Golf Club
12. Royal Troon Golf Club
13. St Andrews
14. Turnberry
This year’s Open is being played at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, where it has been played a total of ten times before, the last in 2001 when David Duval secured his only major win.
Amateur Bobby Jones won the first Open at Royal Lytham over 80 years ago.
Seve Ballesteros is the only golfer to win twice here, a remarkable “back-to-back” in 1979 and 1988.
