Jerry Rice Dominated the Super Bowl Like No Other Wide Receiver
Yesterday, Sports List of the Day checked out running backs with the most rushing yards in a Super Bowl. Today, let’s check out most receiving yards in the big game.
Like Timmy Smith on the running back list, Jerry Rice is the only wide receiver to record over 200 yards receiving in a Super Bowl.
Rice makes the list for all three of his Super Bowl appearances with the San Francisco 49ers. He had a fourth appearance – with the Oakland Raiders in XXXVII (2002 season) – where he went for “just” 77 yards and a TD.
In Super Bowl XXXVIII, both Deion Branch and Muhsin Muhammed caught for over 140 yards.
