MLB: Pitchers That Have Hit the Most Batters in History

Chick Fraser Hit the Most Batters in Baseball History

Here is a cool list – not just the subject, pitchers that have hit the most batters – but the pitchers themselves.

These marks span from the early days of professional baseball in the 1800s all the way to the modern game of the 2000s. In fact, there’s an active on the list: the Tampa Bay RaysJamey Wright.

Pitchers are ranked based solely on their National and American League stats.

Charles “Chick” Fraser hit 219 batters, most all time. He, contemporary Pink Hawley and Walter Johnson are the only major league pitchers to strike over 200 batters in a career. That is going to be a tough club to join these days.

They are followed by another Hall of Fame Johnson, Randy.

What’s old is new again. This list is an eclectic mixture of both old-time and recent greats (and not-so-greats). There’s Cy Young himself, Eddie Plank and Vic Willis alongside Tim Wakefield, Roger Clemens and Pedro Martinez, just for a sample.
