A 23-Year Old Michael Jordan Scored 63 Points In A Playoff Game, Still The All-Time Record

Who scored the most points in an NBA playoff game?

Why, it’s Michael Jordan, the greatest of all time, of course. He scored 63 points in a 1986 First Round double-overtime game against the Boston Celtics. Crazy thing is, the Chicago Bulls lost that game 135-131 (and the series 3-0). See for yourself:

Jordan was only 23 then and his first of six titles was still five years away.

In 1988, Jordan tied (with Wilt Chamberlain and John Havlicek) another record with the most field goals in a playoff game, 24.

Chamberlain also holds two single-game playoff records, including most rebounds (41).

Below, find the postseason single-game records for selected statistical categories. Check out Allen Iverson with 10 steals and Ray Allen with nine three-pointers – twice!
