The 1969 Boston Celtics Won Game 7 On The Road Against The Los Angeles Lakers To Win The NBA Title

If you thought winning a Game 7 on the road in the NHL was hard, as we saw yesterday…forget about it! (fuhgeddaboudit?!) when it comes to the NBA.

Only 17 teams have done it a total of 23 times.

Now, professional hockey has been around a lot longer than pro basketball. The NHL was started way back in 1917 (coming up on its 100th anniversary). The NBA (or BAA as it was called the first three years) got going in 1946.

Also, the NHL has been running seven-game series since 1930, more than a decade before the NBA was born. The NBA has had seven-game series in the postseason since the start.
