Sidney Crosby And Evgeni Malkin, Amongst The Greatest Postseason Point Producers

Who are the most productive offensive players in Stanley Cup Playoff history? Here’s one way to look at it – skaters with the best career postseason points averages (points per game).

Guess who the top two are.

You’re probably right. It’s Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. They, along with mostly-Boston Bruin Barry Pederson, are way above the rest of the pack, breaching the one-and-a-half points per game barrier. It tops out with Gretzky’s insane 1.837 PPG.

And where do active Pittsburgh Penguins Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin rank?

Remarkably high – in the top 10, dispersed amongst some of the greatest to ever pick up a stick.

This was going to be a top 20 post, which is often the standard around here, but this time let’s go all the way with everybody who has averaged at least 1.000 point per game in the playoffs. All together, in all of the NHL‘s 95 postseasons, it’s just 34 skaters. Is your guy on the list?
