Most Power Play and Short-Handed Goals in NHL History
Dave Andreychuk Has the Most Power Play Goals in NHL History (tampabaylightningcare.com)
Wayne Gretzky owns the records for most goals and short-handed goals. But it is Dave Andreychuk who is the greatest opportunist in NHL history.
Andreychuk has scored the most power play goals. He and Brian Bellows are the only skaters on the list who count at least 40% of their goals as power play ones.
Note also that most of the greatest scorers have power play percentages upwards of 33%. It’s a big part of their game. Not Gretzky, though – he has the lowest percentage at 22%.
The second list below, most short-handed goals, shows some of the most clutch skaters in the history of the game.
Almost 20% of Dave Poulin‘s goals were short-handed. Now that’s something.
