The 2011 NBA Playoffs have confirmed what everyone already knows: The NBA is flexing its best season in years.  There is so much young talent in the league, so many superstars, so many great matchups and thrilling games, that one can even argue these are the brightest days for the NBA since, dare I say it, Michael Jordan.

The NBA Finals, in particular, are often “superexciting.”  A number of these series (17), including 2010, have gone the distance – seven games. That’s today’s Sports List of the Day.

The 2010 Finals Game 7 loss is widely known to have been devastating for the Boston Celtics team and coach, Doc Rivers.  It was sweet revenge for the Lakers’ franchise though.  The Celtics and Lakers have met in an NBA Finals Game 7 the most – five times.  The matchup stands 4 – 1, the Lakers finally extracting their Game 7 pound of flesh last year.
