Eli Manning Was Sacked Seven Times as the Carolina Panthers Thumped the New York Giants 38-0

The New York Giants got whalloped by the Carolina Panthers today, 38-0. That sure hurts for Giants fans – it looks like their team’s season is over. Then again, that NFC East is pretty bad.

As far as today’s blowout shutout goes, it ranks middle of the road. There have been plenty bigger since 2000, topped by Tom Brady and the New England Patriots‘ annihilation of the Tennessee Titans, 59-0, four years ago.

Below are the top 20 biggest regular season shutouts since 2000. The Seattle Seahawks are the most merciless team of the bunch, appearing four times.

What about the biggest shutouts of all time? You can see that list here – the low end starts at 52-0. Most of these games were played in the 1920’s and 1930’s, when football was just getting its legs.
