Yesterday, Sports List of the Day checked out skaters with the most power play goals in a season. Today, an even greater feat – those with the most short-handed goals in a season.

This time Wayne Gretzky does make an appearance – two actually, in second and third.

It’s Super Mario, though – Mario Lemieux – who has the most short-handed goals in a single campaign with 13. He makes three appearances amongst the top 20 below.
