The Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks Were The Most Penalized Team In 2013

Penalties are a good thing? Or, at least they don’t matter much if you’ve got the goods.

The Super Bowl XLVIII Champion Seattle Seahawks were the most penalized NFL team in 2013.

And the runner-ups, the Denver Broncos, were the second most penalized team in 2013.

The Seahawks were far ahead of the pack, the only team with over 150 penalty flags thrown – and also had the third most defensive and most offensive penalties. Seattle had over 80 offensive penalties while the next nine teams all ranged in the 60’s.

Denver was flagged 20 fewer times overall, but had more defensive penalties than Seattle. The Broncos had the second most on that side of the ball.

First in defensive penalties? The St. Louis Rams. Mr. Fisher?

Below find all 32 teams’ total, offensive and defensive penalties from last season.

More penalty knowledge? How about teams with the most total team penalties from 2007-2012?
