No Wonder Barry Sanders Won The MVP In 1997

DeMarco Murray isn’t there yet, but he’s on the cusp of distinction. It’s been five games for the Dallas Cowboys this season and five games in a row that Murray has rushed for 100 yards or more.

Right now he’s tied with 27 others with that mark and just one more game away (next week, a tough one against the Seattle Seahawks) from breaking into the top 20 100-yard rushing streaks of all time.

Three running backs, including one active, have had consecutive streaks of 10 games or more.

Barry Sanders tops them all with 14 games in a row – all in one season, too – his 1997 MVP year.

Current New York Jet, Chris Johnson, had a 12-game streak followed by Marcus Allen with 11.

UPDATED LIST: Through Week 6 of 2014. DeMarco Murray has breached the top 20 with his 6th 100-yard rushing game in a row.
