MLB: The 10 Biggest Wins in ALCS History (Run Differential)
But today, let’s switch to baseball and the American League Championship Series. How about blowouts there?
Thirteen times has a team won an ALCS game by at least nine runs, headed by a whomping involving the two greatest rivals in the game’s history.
In 1999, the Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees in Game 3 by 12 runs, 13-1. The Yankees got the last laugh, though, taking the series in five and then sweeping the Atlanta Braves in the World Series.
Two other times has a team won by 11.
But we haven’t gotten to the crazy stuff yet – and that’s the next item on today’s list. In 2004, the Yankees went up on the Red Sox three games to none with an epic 19-8 Game 3 spanking.
We all know what happened after that. History.Follow @VinGetz
