NCAA Football: Alabama and Schools with the Most SEC Championships

Alabama wins again. The Tide have rolled to their 24th SEC Championship, most of any conference team, after beating Missouri soundly, 42-13.

That’s almost twice as many titles as No. 2. The Tennessee Volunteers have won 13 SEC championships, the last two back-to-back with Peyton Manning in 1997 and three-game pro Tee Martin in 1998.

Georgia (12) and LSU (11) are right behind.

In total, out of 14 current members of the SEC (17 over time), just 11 teams have won a championship. They are listed below, sorted by number of titles.

The Missouri Tigers, who lost today, are looking for their first – but this is only their third season in the SEC.

Who else?

Arkansas, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and no-longer-in-the-conf Sewanee, The University of the South never won either.
