Anquan Boldin Holds The Rookie Record For Most Receiving Yards

Where will New York Giants‘ rookie phenom, Odell Beckham, Jr., finish up? With 1,120 receiving yards (in only 11 games), the lock for 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year is already eighth all time amongst rookies.

His once-competition for the award, Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ wider receiver Mike Evans, sits at 997 yards through 14 games.

There’s one game left in the 2014 regular season, and the Giants will be facing the Philadelphia Eagles‘ 25th-best pass defense, but it will be essentially impossible for Beckham to break the all-time rookie record.

In 2003, the Arizona CardinalsAnquan Boldin caught for 1,377 yards. Beckham needs 257 yards in Week 17 to catch him.

Boldin broke Randy Moss‘ 1998 record. They are the only two rookie receivers with over 1,300 yards receiving.

Evans is on the cusp of making today’s list of every rookie with at least 1,000 yards caught. There are 17 of them.

Only one was a tight end: NFL analyst, Super Bowl winning coach and Hall of Famer, Mike Ditka.
