The Toronto Maple Leafs Are The Most Valuable Team In The NHL, As Usual

Just a couple weeks ago, Sports List of the Day looked at all 30 NBA teams’ current values, and compared them to last season’s.

Well, it’s hockey season, too, and it’s about time we checked over at the experts – Forbes – for the NHL‘s numbers.

Mike Ozanian is like clockwork with his annual valuations of all 30 hockey teams – and things are looking up all over in 2014-15, except for the Florida Panthers, the only franchise who fell.

While the NHL trails the other three major American sports leagues (NFL, MLB and the NBA) in riches, more than half the league (16 teams) is valued at $400 million or more, culminating in the billionaire 1-2-3 of the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens.

Check out all eight of Forbes’ previous valuations: 2013-14, 2012-13, 2011-12, 2010-11, 2009-10, 2008-09, 2007-08, and 2006-07. The Leafs have been the most valuable team the whole way.
