If Kevin Garnett Re-Ups For Two More Years, He'll Wind Up Playing More Seasons Than Anyone Else In NBA History

If Kevin Garnett Re-Ups For Two More Years, He’ll Wind Up Playing More Seasons Than Anyone Else In NBA History

Kevin Garnett is banging out his 20th season in 2014-15, first with the Brooklyn Nets, and now, in a return to where it all began in 1995-96 (and where he won his MVP in 2003-04), with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Garnett’s tied with (soon to be fellow-) Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who played six seasons for the Milwaukee Bucks and 14 for the Los Angeles Lakers (and won titles with both teams).

Garnett has mentioned the possibility of retiring at the end of this season, though, along with the end of his current contract.

In that case, he would not catch longtime Boston Celtic champion center Robert Parish and All-Star mostly-Atlanta Hawks journeyman, Kevin Willis. These two played the most seasons of all, 21.

Willis and Garnett both have rings, too – Willis with the San Antonio Spurs in 2003 and Garnett with the Celtics in 2008.
